Discuss Acts 4

    Further examination of John 16:8 as to righteousness

    John 16:8 And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; 11and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.

    I have examined this verse in light of sin; but thought before I continue with the other two aspects of the verse in detail; I should mention that UNBELIEF is something that not only the world but all of us-in reality are in a state of before being regenerated; as that is the first role of the Holy Spirit. When Christ was present on earth; it was clear that after multitudes; presumably almost everyone in Israel knew of Christ's undeniable miracles ( John 11:47) and also of the Apostles ( Acts 4:16) that deliberate unbelief would be the precursor of blasphemy of the Holy Ghost; where Beelzebub was said to be the source of Christ's strength; or others such as the sons of Sceva and the sorcerer in Acts would attempt to gain this power in their own strength or attempt to get it through money. The end result; clearly didn't go too well for these individuals; and no forgiveness was offered for blasphemy of the Spirit ( Mark 3:29 said early in Christ's ministry). Christ said all things against Him or the Father could be forgiven ( Matt. 12:32) but not against the Holy Spirit-and that also is set for the future reign of the Lord on the earth as well. Let us all be as the man in Mark 9:24 and ask Jesus to help us with our unbelief!

    Now as to righteousness. Jesus says because He goes to the Father and we no longer see Him that the Spirit testifies of righteousness. I would think this implies that all who truly know Christ now are as the result of the unseen work of the Spirit.

    As odd as it seems; when Christ was here physically as to Him being God that had to be revealed from above.

    Hi Tdianne,

    As to your question you have received several answers, my understanding in the Bible baptism is done only by immersion as the word means. As Jesse said sprinkling did not start until the 1300s and it was for the reason it was so inconvenient. So, this was done just because of convenience's sake, nothing Biblical about it. I agree with Giannis, and we must believe as Jesus said in Mark 16:16.

    All we do is to be done in our Lord Jesus's name, Colossians 3:16-17. Many use Matthew 28:19 but we also see in the rest of Scripture that a person who is baptized in Jesus' name is someone who believes in Jesus as Savior, the Messiah, the Son of God who for us died, was buried, and was resurrected we acknowledge this by being baptized in His name, Acts 2:38 Acts 8:12 Acts 8:16 Acts 10:48 Acts 19:5 Acts 22:16 Romans 6:3 Galatians 3:27 Colossians 2:12 Ephesians 4:5.

    Paul shows the importance of being baptized in the name of Jesus, Acts 19:1-6. God has placed Jesus and His name above all that is in heaven and earth, Matthew 28:18 Philippians 2:9-11. Salvation only comes in His name Acts 4:12 Romans 10:13. The name of Jesus is the source of power and authority for healing, miracles, and deliverance, Mark 16:17 Luke 10:17 Acts 4:7 Acts 4:30 Acts 16:18.

    We are to give thanks in Jesus's name, Ephesians 5:20. Our faith is through Him and in His name, Acts 3:16. We must believe in Jesus, John 3:16 John 6:47 Acts 16:31 1 John 3:23 1 John 5:13. Whatever we ask for we are to ask in His name, John 14:13-14. We are to pray to the Father in His name, James 5:14. Jesus is our priest and the only mediator between God and men, 1 Timothy 2:5.

    God bless,

    The most important thing, Jesus, the Son of God.

    Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost, Matthew 1:20 of the seed of a woman/Mary, Genesis 3:15, and born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, John 1:13. Jesus grew up the same way that we do, Luke 2:40.

    He was subject to the pulls of the flesh. He was tempted and influenced by Satan, Luke 4:1-2. He had a will and human desires, Luke 22:41-42. Although Jesus was filled without measure with the power of the Holy Ghost, and gave all things into his hand, John 3:34-35 Jesus humbled Himself and was obedient unto death, Philippians 2:5-11.

    To be the payment for sins of man and to be the Savior of mankind and destroy the works of the devil, Jesus had to be a human, Hebrews 2:14-18, the promise God made was to Abraham and his seed, that was Jesus the Messiah/Christ, Galatians 3:16.

    Jesus the last Adam came into this world sinless as the first Adam and had to be laden with what we are as humans. The man Jesus, Romans 5:15, had to endure and overcome sin and rise above the influences of Satan to become the payment for the sins and this atonement made way for our deliverance from Satan's bondage, Romans 3:21-26.

    He also was prepared to be a merciful and faithful High Priest, Hebrews 4:14-16. God sent His own Son to condemn sin in the flesh that the law could not do that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled, Romans 8:3-4.

    Jesus the Son of God a human being had to deal with life as we do. He lived in the same time, space, and constraints as we do. He was born under the law, He became tired, He became hungry, He was subject to persecution, subject to pain, subject to the Roman rulers, He had to deal with all the things the same way we do, and all was the for the will of the Father, not His, Matthew 26:42.

    Only in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth do we have hope, and are saved, Acts 4:12.

    We are to hold fast in our faith to the end.

    God bless,

    Well,the Word is GOD,self-executing,He had a Plan:to save the mankind from the power of Devil.To execute it He needed to incarnate Himself,and He did so at the turn from the fourth to the fifth Day,so He was made flesh around 2000 years ago- Hebrews 1:1-3,He introduce Himself in the world of Devil by the name of JESUS,a LITERAL IMAGE of GOD,His Plan was to make man in His image and likeness in the SIXTH Day-Gen.1:26-Let us make man in our image,after our likeness.GOD's Plan for salvation was to preach the Gospel of His Kingdom,but by whom?Only by He Himself.

    JESUS was born after week 69th,i.e.after a period of 483 years.His birth was something around 7to3BC,as this is known.

    That said,GOD, now called JESUS,the stone which is become the head of the corner,He was set at nought of the builders of the OT, even the prophets which had the Spirit of Christ were killed by the builders- Matthew 23:29-35.Paul wrote:The Gospel of Christ is the power of GOD unto salvation to every one that believes;to the Jew and also to the Greek.For therein is the righteousness of GOD revealed from faith to faith: Romans 1:16-17.

    Acts 4:12 reveals:Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other NAME under heaven given among men,whereby we must be saved.It still was the beginning of the fifth Day.

    JESUS himself began to be about thirty years of age,He started His Ministry,saying:The time is fulfilled,and the Kingdom of GOD is at hand:repent ye,and believe the gospel- Mark 1:15.JESUS said to the Jews:My Father works hitherto,and I work-Jo.5:17.

    JESUS said to the Father:I have glorified thee on the earth:I have finished the work which thou gave me to do.The validity of His sacrifice for salvation already last around 2000 years,more than 730.000 days,in days to come the false messiah of the Jews- John 5:43-47,Re.13:11,will enthrone himself in Jerusalem,the Abomination of desolation is established,the daily sacrifice is taken out,the Dispensation of Grace gets to the END.

    JESUS' own testimony of Himself is wonderful,it reveals in depth the mystery of His existence in the greatness of the Universe created by GOD the Father,full of heavenly bodies,and on Earth specifically He populated the planet with living beings,and He sat in the circle of the Earth: Is.40:21-22:->21Have ye not known?have ye not heard?has it not been told you from the beginning?have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is GOD that sits upon the circle of the Earth,and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;

    That said,we must remember what JESUS said from His own existence:Jo.17:4-5:

    4I have glorified thee on the earth:I have finished the work which thou gave me to do( John 1:3&5:17& Hebrews 1:1-2 testify what JESUS said.Check it)

    5And now,O Father,glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the WORLD was.(John the Baptist,angel of the LORD,testified about this,saying:Jo.1:18-No man has seen GOD at any time,the only begotten Son,which is in the bosom of the Father,He has declared Him)

    Paul testified:Col.1:14-16:

    14 In JESUS we have redemption through His blood,even the forgiveness of sins:

    15 Who is the image of the INVISIBLE GOD,the firstborn of every creature:

    16 For by Him-by JESUS-were all things created,that are in heaven, and that are in earth,visible and invisible,whether they be thrones,or dominions,principalities,powers:all things were created by Him,and for Him:( John 1:3&5:17& Hebrews 1:1-2 confirm)

    Acts 4:11-12:

    11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders,which is become the head of the corner.

    12Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other NAME(except JESUS)under heaven given among men,whereby we must be saved.

    Mat.11:27-No man knows the Son,but the Father;neither knows any man the Father,save the Son,and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.

    No man has seen GOD,the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has made Him known.John1:18

    Hi Bennymkje

    In response to you request, my Bible is written in Portuguese, translated by Joo Ferreira de Almeida, printed by Imprensa Bblica Brasileira, created in 1940, adding a system of biblical references, and a concise or compact biblical dictionary translated from English by Dr. S.L. Watson and wife, Mrs Ana, former missionaries in Brazil.

    I'm from Brazil, I live in the south of Brazil, close to Argentina, now it's 1.05 AM here.

    As for the Jewish calendar, I agree with you, saying, "Being a Jew does not make his calendar correct", and That's exactly what I tried to demonstrate in my post yesterday, asking the following question: How to explain the difference of exactly 240 years in the Jewish calendar? In my understanding, I find this difference in the calendar of a genuinely biblical people created and developed by GOD very strange.

    So I suggested three specifics events at facts that are a stain on the nation's history of Israel , actually shameful events in the history of Israel as probable causes of the difference between the Jewish calendar and the Biblical Chronology. The three events are:

    1-The Jewish Calendar begins in Seth, not in Adam, so we have less 130 years here;

    2-Jews do not consider their 40 years of wandering in the desert, from Egypt to the promised land;

    3-They do not consider also their shameful 70 years of captivity in Babylon.

    What other explanation could there be that would justify this difference of exactly 240 years?

    NOTE:Not only their calendar is a nonsense,biblicaly uncorrect,as we all can see,but also a devilish colection of fictitious GOD's NAMES that they added in the Jewish Bible by their esoteric, and kabbalistic and spiritist spirit, even calling GOD's name through four capital letters YHWH or YHVH among other nine pseudo names,which are not named by the Holy Spirit,but by the spirit of the Evil,the Wicked- John 8:44.The true and only NAME of GOD is revealed, for example, in Acts 4:11-13 and Hebrews 1:8.

    GOD bless

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

    Dearest Adam

    The Word is GOD the Father, around 2000 years ago He was made flesh in the womb of a virgin(For with GOD nothing is impossible), and the NAME that GOD chose for He Himself was JESUS, understand? Acts 4:11-12:->11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    Yes indeed, GOD the Father also hath highly exalted JESUS, and given Him a NAME which is above every name: Ph.2:9 KJV

    In fact, JESUS or JOSHUA is the only NAME of GOD, and it is above every name.

    You asked: Even above Jehovah? Well, well, who is Jehovah? Jehovah is the name of the father of the Jews, don't you know? It is what JESUS, the own GOD made flesh, said to the Jews: John 8:44-45

    But Jeovah is not the only name of the father of the Jews. They invented several names for their god mainly in the modern world. In antiquity there were several names of god, to this day there is even the star of the god Remphan on the flag of the current esoteric and kabbalist and spiritualist Israel(the star of David has nothing to do with the current witchkraft of the Jews), whose country to this day is full of idolatries and sorcery, the holy city today is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt.

    By the way, in the begining of October 2023, I posted here to GIANNIS saying to him that YHWH, Jehovah, Yahweh, Yehovah, Elohim, Adonai, HaShem, Yahusha, YEHshia, YEHvah, these names are not NAMES of GOD, quite the opposite, all these names listed are strictly the names of the Devil, or NICKNAMES of Devil.

    I don't quite understand why people lend credence to Kabbalistic and esoteric, and spiritists sources to speculate GOD's NAME. Think about it. Tares will now be cast into the fire to be burned for everlasting time.

    Be careful and get ready to meet JESUS- Matthew 25:6-13

    Hi Adam,

    I understand your passion and I believe you may have misunderstood parts of my post; I am sorry. Your first question is yes, I am a follower of Jesus. Jesus answered the scribe and said, Mark 12: 29-30 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And yes, I do, but am I perfect, NO.

    I do not belong to any denomination; I have attended many denominations but Catholic and I am in my 70s and there is not a church close to me now that I feel comfortable going to. John 1:1 I will say my understanding is different and too long to explain in this reply maybe another thread.

    What I meant about Matthew 28:19 is in this verse Jesus told them to go baptizing people in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. People use this to support the Trinity doctrine but nowhere in the New Testament is anyone baptized in the name of the three, people were only baptized in the name of Jesus not that there was no baptizing in the New Testament, but they were only baptized in the name of Jesus.

    As you listed Acts 4:10-12 only by the name of Jesus and "none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. And that name is who they baptized people in the New Testament not of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Now in many churches, a person must believe in the Trinity for salvation, and if they do not confess the Trinity, they are not a Christian. Can you show me where that was said or was taught anywhere in the New Testament?

    I am sorry we do not agree on this, and I hope this helps you understand my last post, and may we be guided by the Holy Spirit in our study for the truth, we are one body.

    God bless,

    Hi RLW,

    I don't remember who believes what in this forum, but I feel a duty to defend Jesus and defend the truth, so I will share God's word. I feel that's the least I can do as a Christ follower. Do you consider yourself a Christ follower?

    If you don't believe Jesus is God then I wonder if you believe Christians are in violation of the 1st of the 10 commandments? Because if you don't think Jesus is God or divine then you might think putting Jesus #1 in their life is bad? If you can explain your religious doctrine or denomination more that would be helpful.

    "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1 KJV

    It is like Matthew 28:19

    I'd like to ask about your comment, "the baptizing in the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit but nowhere do we see it in the New Testament all were baptized in the name of Jesus and only in the name of Jesus are we saved."

    I don't totally understand this comment yet. Are you saying you don't see baptizing isn't in the new testament? Because you replied with a verse that is in the new testament, so you seemed to have refuted your own comment?

    And the latter half of your comment is "...and only in the name of Jesus are we saved."

    But the Bible says precisely that in Acts 4:12. It says:

    "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:10-12 KJV

    It says the name of Jesus Christ is through whom we are saved. It says it plain as day. Did I understand your comment correctly?

    Also it flat out says Jesus is God in John 1:1 "Word was God" and it says Jesus is the Word in at least a couple other verses

    I thank my Savior for showing great restraint, patience, and love for me, as I rejected HIS claims and title to my life as this chapter shows of the elders, officers, and people did. But of HIS love of HIS FATHER in heaven; and HIS desire for all to be saved - HE endured the ridicule, rejection, and humiliation and went obediently to complete the plan of SALVATION by dying on the cross, being buried, and raised on third day as written. I and any one who believes and trust in the gospel will be saved. Romans 10:9-12; Acts 4:12

    Thank YOU LORD JESUS for YOUR gift to the world. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to every one on this forum.

    Hi Jesse,

    "But the importance is that everybody must settle it in their own hearts and minds about who Jesus is." So true. This has been discussed I think most know my understanding on this.

    Was He just a great man? 1 Timothy 2:5 Numbers 23:19 1 Hosea 11:19 Corinthians 15:21-22 Was He just a great teacher? John 3:2 Was He a great healer? Luke 4:18-19 Was He a prophet? Deuteronomy 18:18 Was He the brother of Satan? No, He is the only begotten Son, John 3:16 1 John 4:14. Was He Michael the archangel? No, Hebrews 1:5. Or was He God in the flesh? 1 Timothy 3:16 manifest, (make clear, make known) John 5:19. Did Peter give the right answer? Yes.

    This doctrine was developed almost 400 years after Jesus's crucifixion, today in Christianity salvation is dependent on the belief in the Trinity doctrine. If that is true. Why is it not taught anywhere in the New Testament?

    If Jesus is God why would God have to anoint Him with His Spirit? Did Jesus do the works and the miracles or did God the Father by His Spirit/Holy Spirit? Is salvation at the mercy of the belief in the Trinity doctrine? Did Jesus say the Father was His God? Could God fulfill the law that was made for man? Did God give Himself or His Son that we would not perish? If we say Jesus is God, do we deny the Son?

    Jesus said this, John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

    Acts 4:12 God bless,

    The True Gospel (part 2)

    The true gospel has to do with the primary problem facing mankind, namely the wages of sin, which is death, and the penalty demanded by the law of God, which is the second death, eternal damnation. God sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners. Christ, who is eternal God in every sense of the word, and who was without sin, was laden with the sins of all the elect who were given to him by the Father before the foundation of the world, which had nothing to do with their works. Christ paid the eternal penalty demanded by the law of God on behalf of the elect, and only the elect, who are just a remnant, a tiny part of the whole. Christ said, I and the Father are one.

    Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    1 Corinthians 15

    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

    Hello, I don't see any verse mentioning muhammed. Isaiah 21:13 mentions Arabia but I think it's a stretch to say that has anything to do with this person. I think some are eager and motivated to draw a connection to him and are trying to find any possible connection instead of simply reading the Bible and trying to understand its normal meaning.

    The Bible is clear that no one can be saved and enter heaven without Jesus Christ.

    "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 KJV

    Thanks Giannis.

    1 Corinthians 5:4-5 is the account

    Here is how I understand what we are discussing.

    4,5) - "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

    I don't believe Paul is talking about condemnation as to one's salvation.

    He's not talking about forgiveness of sins. He's talking about excommunicating this person.

    The Corinthians was a proud church and continuing on as if there was nothing wrong. Delivering him to Satan for the destruction of the flesh would be his just punishment.

    This is chastening not condemning.

    ( that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.)

    This would cause him to repent, I will come to that later.

    As we read on in the following verses we see where Paul urges them to not keep company with evil doers of the world.

    He is now writing them to not keep company with any man that is called a brother that's an evil doer.

    A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. ( 1 Corinthians 5:6-13.

    Back to the evil doer in question. I believe here in 2 Corinthians 2:2-11 we have the account where this guy repented from those evil deeds.

    Paul was coming down on the whole congregation for this cause.

    I believe this account is in

    2 Corinthians 7:8-12.

    Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. ( That's Christ. )

    We are commissioned to preach Christ. If a person reject Christ, that person shall be bound on earth as he or she is bound in heaven: and if that person receives Christ he or she shall loosed on earth as they are loosed in heaven.

    I agree, perhaps others may like to share their thoughts.

    Thanks and God bless

    Hi Giannis

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

    You said"God doesn't have a name like humans,say John,George, Michael..." .

    Perfectly.Let us recapitulate what the Word reveals:In Exodus 3:14,when Moses wanted to know GOD's name,GOD said:I Am That I Am. In fact was not a name,for example,you are that you are,I am that I am. And GOD said unto Moses:Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,I Am hath sent me unto you.

    So,for Moses specifically the I Am was GOD, His GOD.

    Well,it is interesting to consider that the people of GOD in Egypt, Abraham's descendants,were all Egyptians by birth,including Moses, in fact they became a people familiarized with the idolatry of the Egyptians, the Apis ox, so in their journey through the desert, a golden calf came out from their heart as was a god for them.

    And for the people of Israel as a whole, then the I Am introduce Himself as the GOD of them, Moses was instructed to preach for the people, saying:"...the Lord GOD of your fathers, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac,and the GOD of Jacob,hath sent me unto you:this is my NAME for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations(of Israel).The Lord GOD of your fathers,the GOD of Abraham,of Isaac, and of Jacob,appeared unto me- Exodus 3:15-16.

    And prophet Amos preached: For, lo, He that formeth the mountains,and createth the wind,and declareth unto man what is his thought,that maketh the morning darkness,and treadeth upon the high places of the earth,The Lord( Exodus 6:3),The GOD of hosts is His NAME.

    By the way, YHWH,and Yahweh,Jehovah,Yehovah,Elohim,Adonai, HaShem,Yahusha,YEHshia,YEHvah,these 10 names,rather, nicknames,are NAMES of the father and god of the Jews.Jn.8:44-45 combined with 2:Th2:3-4& Jn 5:43-47.Take a look.

    Acts 4:11-12 say:11 JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.12 Neither is there salvation IN ANY OTHER:for there is none OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among men-EXCEPT JESUS- whereby we must be saved.

    In Peter stating "no prophecy of the Scripture", then explains what he's referring to in the next verse, "but holy men of God spake as they were " MOVED by the HOLY GHOST "

    He's speaking of the Holy Spirit voice speaking in our hearts, 2Cor 4:6, which "Treasure we have in these earthen vessels", that Peter refers to 2Peter 1:19 "a light that shines in a dark place" 1John 2:27 it's the sure Word of prophecy This is how they received the faith that we are earnestly to contend for Jude 1:3 believing that it is He speaking to us, "the Word of Faith" that's near us even in our hearts & in our mouth, that Paul preached. Rom 10:17 the Living Word, Christ, not the letter, but His Spirit.

    For the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy Rev 19:10 by which the Scriptures were received & written , 2 Tim 3:16

    It's the Spirit of Grace appearance, refer to in John 1:9, that Peter is referring to as the sure Word, for He will speak the same meaning of the Scriptures to all, which He inspired. John 16:13

    For all that would submit to Him, He will bring into the unity of the Faith of the Son of God as it was in the beginning

    Acts 4:32

    This present "thread" is an witness against all of you of His lack of inspiration among you,

    Given forth for no other reason, but to awaken you to the reality of your condition, that you may recover from her cup.

    Rev 17:2-5

    GiGi on Numbers 35-YHWH instructs...

    These 10 are one.Wouldn't they be the name of the father of the Jews? John 8:44-45.

    I am asking because according to the Word of GOD-the Word is GOD-, Acts 4:11-12 say:

    11-JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

    12 Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other NAME under HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.(Yes, there is none other NAME under HEAVEN except JESUS,that is the NAME that the own GOD chose for He Himself.JESUS said:I and my Father are One- John 10:30.And in the fourth Day after Adam,or around 2000 years ago,JESUS said: My Father worketh hitherto(it was still the fourth Day),and I work- John 5:17). In my understand,GOD was never called by nicknames as above listed.The name of GOD is only one:JESUS.

    I don't quite understand why people lend credence to Kabbalistic and esoteric, and spiritists, sources(?)Think about it.

    "Yehovah", "Yehovih", et al. as above listed,are considered sacred names in Kabbalah,so what? I find this absurd. But what does the Word of GOD say? 1Tim.4:1-2:

    1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    Beloved, believe not every spirit,but try the spirits whether they are of GOD:because many false prophets are gone out into the world- 1John 4:1.

    1Jn 5:19-20:

    19 We know that we are of GOD,and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

    20 And we know that the Son of GOD is come,and hath given us an understanding,that we may know Him that is true,and we are in Him that is true,even in His Son Jesus Christ.This is the true God, and eternal life.

    May our Lord GOD bless and keep us,and give us His protection, now,and for ever.

    There are some difficulties with the theory of Paul. And by the way, many scholars now do not hold that view because of all the difficulties.

    For example, the letter was written by a second-generation Christian because of what he stated in Hebrews 2:3 which says, "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him."

    Whoever wrote Hebrews did not hear the Lord directly, nor receive from the Lord directly, but received and was confirmed and established for us, he being one of them, by those that heard Him. So, this is just one of the problems.

    Paul himself, as stated in Galatians 1:11-12 said, but I certify to you brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man, for I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. So, Paul is not a second generation Christian, and whoever wrote Hebrews is a second generation Christian.

    Another theory was that it was Barnabas, because the letter appears to have been written by a Levite. Now a Levite, from the tribe of Levi, they were those who worked the temple. They were the priests. And they are the ones who took care of the temple.

    The letter appears to have been written by a Levite because of the familiarity with the temple functions and rituals. According to Acts 4:36, Barnabas was a Levite. So, some people theorize that Barnabas wrote it.

    The name Barnabas means "Son of Encouragement." The writer states in Hebrews 13:22 that he encourages them to endure the word of encouragement. Even the writer is saying he's giving encouragement to them, and he encourages them to endure. So, Barnabas was the encourager, another point that people make who theorize that Barnabas wrote the book.

    Some say Luke wrote Hebrews. Some scholars believe that Luke took a Hebrew version of the Book of Hebrews and translated it into Greek.

    Brother CJF asked if

    Is the Godhead one God or 3 persons

    See,in my view,what matters and prevails is the Word of our GOD. First of all, the Word is GOD-Jo.1:1-,self-executing/self-executable, great mystery, well, it's the Power.As we all know, the Word was made flesh,i.e. materialized in human form exactly according the EXPRESS IMAGE(is written in the Bible,in the book of the Lord)of the Person of GOD-Heb.1:3;Phil.2:6-11 combined with Col.1:15-19,among other references,and the NAME that the Person of GOD chose for He Himself was JESUS/YESHUA Mat 1:20-21

    By the way,JESUS has Genealogia,He is the stone which was set at nought of you builders(the Jews),which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among MEN, whereby we must be saved- Acts 4:11-12-EXCEPT JESUS/YESHUA.(NOTE:Adonai,Jehovah,Yahweh,HaShem,Yehovah,Elohim,Yahusha, YEHshia,YEHvah has nothing to do with salvation or for salvation),neither for to bow before this colection of"God pseudonyme"

    Concerning the person of the Holy Spirit,who is like our Lord JESUS- Revelation 1:12-13, in fact he is unknown as a person, mainly because he has no Genealogy as JESUS has, without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days,nor end of life;but made like unto the Son of God;abides a priest continually,something after the similitude of Melchisedec

    It's a profound mystery-1Cor.2:9-11&7

    9 But as it is written,Eye hath not seen,nor ear heard,neither have entered into the heart of man,the things which GOD has prepared for them that love him

    10 But GOD hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:for the Spirit searches all things,yea, the deep things of GOD

    11 For what man knoweth the things of a man,save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of GOD knows no man,but the Spirit of GOD

    But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory

    To CJF, Derek, and all,

    First, I ask your forgiveness, and say the KJV is one of the most trustworthy English translations, but they are not perfect. When we study pray, and the Holy Spirit will give us understanding, we can trust the Holy Spirit will lead and teach us because the Spirit is truth, 1 John 5:6 do not doubt that. Believe the Scripture by being led by the Holy Spirit, not the traditions of man.

    (Milk, then meat) it is a lifelong walk, and some answers will not be known but the one answer that matters is Jesus is the way.

    John's gospel, his letters, and Revelation have one thing in common, to show and give evidence that Jesus is the Christ/Messiah, the only begotten Son of God who the Father sent, and in Him is life, our salvation, eternal life. Acts 4:11-12 The Father sent the Son John 4:34 John 5:30 John 6:29 Jesus came down from heaven to do the will of the Father John 6:38.

    Jesus came out from God John 16:27 Jesus is the beginning of creation Rev. 3:14 Before Mary could touch Him, He said I ascend unto my Father, and to my God John 20:17 John's writings are full of who Jesus was, is, and will be.

    What I posted was not a lie, it is a fact, maybe I should not have posted it on an open forum like this. I wanted to inspire the study, searching for the truth, and not causing doubt. It touches on a subject that many consider non-discussable, the Trinity doctrine.

    This is from my heart; this doctrine has been placed equal to the gospel of Jesus. In many Churches, you are not saved and are not a Christian if you do not believe and confess this doctrine. Does the Church have the authority to say this?

    Is there any Scripture that says our salvation is dependent on this doctrine that was 400 years after the Scriptures we have? Was it even discussed by Peter, John, Paul, or in any of the letters we have? I'll leave it there.

    I am sorry if I have offended you.

    Love you all and God bless,

    Hi David.

    Part 1

    David, I didn't give you my definition of Church. I gave you the Strongs definition of Church.

    Pronunciation: ek-klay-see'-ah

    Definition: From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out that is (concretely) a popular meeting especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): - assembly church.

    Christ said upon this rock he will build "HIS" Church. It's His calling out or Gathering, It's not by Church membership. It's the Holyspirit the puts the true believers in the body of Christ, "By faith.

    We will have to agree to disagree on the Church issue.

    David, Concerning the rock.

    You said.

    The "rock" is Christ Himself. It is not what I describe.

    Yes, the rock is Christ! Thats exactly what I described!

    David Israel stumbled at that rock, this was not Christ church in the wilderness.

    Isaiah 8:14. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

    Acts 4:10-11. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

    This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

    Study these verses also.

    Matthew 21:33-43

    1 Peter 2:6-9.

    Romans 9:31-33.

    See Part 2

    Davtid you have said over and over again

    "There is one and only one Judgment and Salvation Program for Mankind throughout time. And that Program, the Gospel, is circumscribed by the Bible Alone and in its Entirety.

    Who's debating that?

    I agree and been saying that exclusively since I have been on this site!

    However, I don't even recall THAT being a part of this conversation!

    At least not from me.

    hi Ray

    2 Pet 1:19 does not refer to the letter, Peter explains it further 2 Pet 1:20,21 the Spirit, the Light John 1:9 Titus 2:11 is 2 Cor 4:6,7 the sure Word of Prophecy within us, by the Spirit of Prophecy Rev 19:10 the testimony of Jesus Christ

    The rule & guide of a Christian life.

    Friend consider;

    Here on this site is evidence enough, all the different opinions concerning the meaning of the Scriptures, where are all these opinions coming from? Is Christ divided?

    Where as if everyone would be led by His Spirit, He speaks the same thing to all, according to their measure of Grace received, yet it's the same word according to each one's measure.

    Acts 2:1 Acts 4:32 this is the fruits we shall see when its Christ who speaks, bringing His church to the Ephesians 4:13

    The Spirit alone can accomplish this. John 17:21-23 1Cor 6:17 1Cor 12:13

    in love & truth

    In Addition

    1 John 2:19 Ephesians 4:14 these apostates took over the ministry of Christ, the Gifts, Ephesians 4:11 & has raise of a ministry & sanctuary that of this world, all saying here is Christ & there is Christ. All in the lust 1John 2:16 some more some less, but a little leaven, leavens the whole lump, there are over 45,000 different favors/sect's of Christianity world wide, is Christ divide?

    The Church in is first pure innocent primitive state Acts 4:32 fulfilling Ephesians 4:12,13, & would have remain so, excepting for God in His infinite Wisdom choses otherwise, Rev 13:7

    The work of the Ephesians 4:11 first is to point them to Christ within them, their Isa 9:6, then to become servants to His Body, the Church. John 13:13-16, then at the appointed time of the Father, proving themselves faithful to the ministry they have received, Act 6:2 God gave them an increase, in rewards to their faithfulness to Him. Read on there & see the increase they received multiplied.

    Jesus said, Luke 17:21 Ephesians 4:4-7 all pointing to God within them. All of this is not figuratively, but a spiritual reality to be lived, known & felt in the heart.

    In Revelation we find the Spirit of the Lord is Crying out to His people Rev 18:4 connecting 2Cor 6:14-18, I ask you who will hear His Call & if required of them to sell all that he has to follow Jesus & to forsake all that he believes that's contrary to Holy Spirit teaching, Matt 7:14 For surely the teaching in Babylon is the same as the devil taught in Eden, Genesis 3, they too being evasive, twisting God's word to their own 2Pet 3:16

    Consider these things, Proverbs 25:2

    Verleen, This is for the questions asked about the Holy Ghost. I am a messianic believer of Jesus {Yashua is his real name, Ya=God. Shua=Salvation} I pray I can clarify some of your doubts.

    1.{ John 3:16} God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten son, that whoever believed on him shall not perish but have everlasting life, this is Jesus who was, and still is the savior of mankind, he came to teach us on how we can have everlasting life. he gave us the example that we should be baptized as he was. The Holy Spirit descended upon him and abode in him, { Luke 4:1}, {Mathew 3:16} this was necessary for him to begin his ministry to the people of Israel. It was through the Holy spirit that he performed the miracles mentioned in the Bible. { Mark 5:41} and by whom he taught with authority.

    2. The New Testament Church became to being through the four Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, these four were witnesses, of Jesus's Divine teachings. Jesus, he told them he will send his Holy Spirit, { John 14:26}, { Acts 2:4}, { Acts 4:31}

    Here again, the Holy Spirit enabled them to perform miracles and teach others {also the Gentiles} about the Kingdom of God. { Acts 10:19}

    3. There are true Believers who worship God, in truth and in the Spirit, for God is a Spirit so we must worship in the Spirit. This of course is after believing that God sent his Son, as the word says, that whoever believes in Jesus as our Savior must be Baptized in his real name, as the Hebrew Bible instructs us, his name is "Yashua" He is a newborn person, therefore, this born-again person will also receive the Holy Spirit. {Psalm32:8}, { John 16:13}, { john 3:5}. I hope that these verses from the Bible, will help you understand the Importance the Holy Spirit has had in the life of Jesus in his teachings, the New Testament brought about by the four gospels of the Apostles, and to our very own lives today. This is a wonderful promise given to us who believe in the Savior, { Numbers 23;19} God Bless you.

    Christ has already come & that in Spirit, He told His disciples; Mark 9:1; Matt 16:28; over 2000 yrs ago, which came in full power at Pentecost.

    I will not leave you comfortless, but you will see me again, that your joy maybe full, & Christ doesn't come alone, He brings His Father within Him, They became Ephesians 2:22; John 17:21-23; & they Micah 4:3;

    Hebrews 9:28; is Titus 2:11; diffusing the fragrance of His knowledge in every heart. 2Cor 4:6 This is Titus 2:13; describing His 2nd appearance in Spirit. Who continually gives of Himself that Titus 2:14;

    As for this son of perdition; it's the old Adamic nature that is rule by Ephesians 6:12; who's coming 2Thessalonians 2:9; this spirit works even deceive the very elect, who, we all must engage with within 2 Cor 10:3-5; Jesus says; Matt 15:18,19; for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so their within us. Think about this, we all have these thoughts spring up within us, 1 Pet 4:3; thus Jesus commands; Luke 14:27; The ones, Satan does deceive is explain, 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12; they refuse to believe the Witness, whom God has place within conscience. John 16:8; John 12:47-50; Jesus says, 8:24; Therefore were He has gone one cannot go.

    Both seeds are spiritual, both kingdoms are within mankind.

    This rapture theory John 17:11:15 "not to take them out of the world". But describes receiving 1Pet 1:5-9;The cumulation is the Baptism of the Holy Spirt, describing 2 Cor 10:6; resulting from Titus 3:5; by 1Pet 1:23; unto John 3:3; the chaff, ( old man sin nature is thoroughly purges out without a trace, Daniel 2:34,35; these earthen vessels, 1Cor 15:48,49; ) the wheat (new man created in the image of Him that created him) is gather unto the Gardener, we're His & He's ours, Acts 1:9-11; Daniel 7:13;

    It's a spiritual encounter & habitation with the One true God, John 17:24; here & now, Acts 4:32,33;

    Do you perceive the wonderous honor & glory of God's Great Salvation, on earth as it is in heaven.

    Acts 4:11-12KJV reveal there is none other NAME under heaven EXCEPT JESUS whereby we must be saved :

    11 JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

    12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME (except JESUS-the Word made flesh-the Word is GOD) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    JESUS explained : Matthew 11:27KJV - ... No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; NEITHER KNOWETH any MAN the FATHER, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him. (As said John the Baptist, angel of the Lord : "No man hath seen GOD at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the BOSOM of the Father, He hath declared Him (made Him known) . John 1:18KJV
