As far as the verses Colossians 2:12 and Romans 6:3-7 are concerned, why do you think it'a about Spirit's baptism? Spirit's baptism is not something symbolic for something else as bapt. in water is. One doesn't do anything, simply God sends His Spirit to dwell in him. There is nothing there to symbolize for, I think. And certainly one receiving the HS can not in any case be taken as the burial and ressurection of Jesus.
As you said baptize in greek means to dip, immerse. The Jews practised many baptisms, hands, pots everything. Why? It means to dip them in water just to clean them. That is why John's baptism was for repemting and spiritual cleansing. John 3:3 "And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;" Please pay attention to that "for the remission of sins". If John's baptism was for the remission of sins, how do some of us believe that the christian baptism is not necassary for salvation?
Nice to hear from you again, we may disagree to some things but is nice to talk to you.
I would agree that 1 Corinthians 15:29 is referring to them performing water baptism as a substitute for the dead who were never water baptized for one reason or another. However, I don't think I can agree that the other two verses you gave ( Colossians 2:12, and Romans 6:3-7) are speaking of water baptism. I understand those verses to be referring to the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I do agree on the symbolism of water baptism. Water baptism is an expression, a testimony, supposedly of what God did in my spirit when I got saved. It is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And yes, I am in agreement with you that the word baptize (BAPTO) means to dip or immerse. Secondly, the word baptism is related to two things, one is cleansing, but it is mostly related to identification.
That is one of the things about Christian baptism, water baptism, is that when you are baptized, it is your testimony of your identification and the inward work of God's Spirit in your life. The second thing that the word baptism represents is cleansing. It was used religiously to represent cleansing.
In the book of Hebrews, the writer of Hebrews says that the Jewish people had many baptisms. And they would practice this, especially the washing of hands. But the Jews would baptize everything, pots, pans, you name it!
Stay with prayers and supplication and reading the Bible. A person who truly seek the truth will be guided by the Holy Spirit. Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Acts 20:28-32
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Agape.
Brother Chris in one of his posts said that that verse was not clear to him, so I posted my understanding of it. I copy and paste my post to him.
"My opinion about 1 Corinthians 15:29 "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?"
My belief is that it talks about baptism in water in the name of Jesus. Be patient and I will explain myself.
Firstly lets read what the scripture says about baptism in water (what it really symbolizes)
Colossians 2:12
"Buried with him (Jesus) in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead."
Romans 6:3-7
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? (Baptism in greek means immersion, submersion)
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin."
One may argue that the above verses are not about baptism in water, but for me their is no doubt.
So Baptism in water symbolizes burial of our old sinful person in the grave (of the water tank) and the rising up (resurrection of) a new person ready to follow a new holly life, exactly like Jesus was burried after crucifixion and was raised up from the dead.
But if Jesus was never resurrected from the dead, baptism would be in the name of a dead Jesus, that is in the name of the dead/for the dead. Ther isn't any benefit for us in such a case. If Jesus was never resurrected, we are still in our sins and we have no eternal life."

I agree again David. Nice to find someone who know facts from the Bible only and not from any historical men or religious denominations. I do believe in the mystery of Christ in you. When God open my heart and eyes to the truth He immediately told me to grow in Charity and grace. Unbelievably started memorizing many verses until I fall asleep. These are a few. I love them all. I will just keep memorizing.
"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;" Colossians 2:2 KJV "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:3 KJV. Rejoice evermore my friend.
Ronnette I absolutely agree with your reading of scripture, Jesus Christ came for the lost sheep of the house of Israel as stated in the gospels and the church epistles. The apostle paul was specifically called out to the gentiles because the judeans were still
working in the law although they were operating GODS GIFT OF GRACE. The APOSTLE PAUL WAS SPECIFICALLY GIVEN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ONE BODY IN CHRIST Ephesians 3:1-9 also Colossians 1;25-29. Thats why Romans through thessalonians
is the complete knowledge of the operation of the church in the grace administration or age.
Hello, John chapter 1 explains and answers all these questions:
John 1:14-15 reveals that Jesus is called the "Word."
John 1:1 says "Word was with God, and the Word was God." this means that Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.
John 1:3 says "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." This means that all things were made by Jesus, and without Jesus nothing was made.
The common misunderstanding is that Jesus temporarily came to earth and while fully God, became fully man and appeared to allow Himself to be limited as a man. So, most people analyze His behavior as a temporary man and draw assumptions from it: like how can He pray to Himself? etc.
John 1:9-10 - talks about Jesus, also called the "Light" coming to earth.
Philippians 2:6-7 - to me this means that Jesus wasn't concerned about His power being lessor or limited as a temporary man.
Luke 2:52 - Jesus put Himself in a position of a man to grow in wisdom and maturity.
So, all of your quotes are while Jesus was in a temporary limited state as a man on earth.
You wrote: "Inconceivable if he is God the Creator." It's not inconceivable because the Bible literally says Jesus created everything in John 1:3.
If this isn't convincing enough there are more verses saying the same thing:
Yes, the Bible says that God is one God, but somehow plural within using the words, "we", a "Godhead", and "these three are one." This comes from the Bible, not from men. This is hard to comprehend for most people and takes faith to believe, but just because something is unfamiliar to us doesn't make it untrue. The word "trinity" is a convenient word to describe this unusual form. The Bible also doesn't have the word "Bible" within, but doesn't mean it's not a Bible.
God is Spirit, no beginning and no end, CANNOT be seen, touched, felt, etc.
The Father wanted to be KNOWN, seen, touched, etc., available to the senses.
The Father created a IMMORTAL BODY, and God (SPIRIT, LIFE) put HIMSELF in that Body, and he called that BODY the MAN JESUS CHRIST.
Christ the Boby of God, the Father, no beginning no end, the First and the Last.
Christ, THE BODY, can do nothing of itself, it's the FATHER in that BODY, that does everything.
And The Father sent Jesus Christ THE MAN to MULTIPLY HIMSELF. The FIRSTBORN among many brethren.
Bodies of men, THAT CAN DO NOTHING OF ITSELF, that exist, and does the work, of CHRIST, by that LIFE OF CHRIST. This was all made possible by the death of the flesh and blood body on the cross and the RESURRECTION of the flesh and bone (IMMORTAL) body of Christ.
This is what WE ARE: BODIES that exist, and do the WORKS OF CHRIST; by the LIFE OF CHRIST.
We were put in a body of flesh and bone; FIRST, so we could come to this KNOWLEDGE.
Ephesians 4:4 ONE BODY (man).....ONE SPIRIT (GOD)(LIFE) ...
Ephesians 4:6 ONE GOD .....FATHER OF ALL .....
Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ...Christ in you (his body)
Philippians 2:13 For it is God (Christ in you) that WORKETH both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Yes, we are essentially spirits. But to live on this Earth that God has given us & to enjoy its blessings, God has given us a body (both for visibility & for being human). John 1:1-14 tells us that the Word was with God & was God - that Word was made flesh (human). John chapter 1 speaks of Jesus, God's Word made flesh, to fulfil the Purposes of God for fallen humanity. There was no other reason for such an 'incarnation', for the Word & the Spirit are eternally part of the Godhead & each member functioned as purposed by God.
God does not have a body. John 4:24, "God is Spirit". But God has manifested Himself in the flesh in Jesus, His Son incarnate. One disciple, Philip, asked Jesus, "shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us".
Jesus answered him, " Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake."
This does not mean that Jesus, in the flesh, looks the same as the Father, but Jesus' very works, His Life, & His Words, reveal the Person of God. So when we look at Jesus' Life, we are seeing the exact image of God, for how else can we describe the image of a spirit? Colossians 1:15: 'Jesus is the image of the invisible God'.
We are all spirits (our true essence), clothed with a body. Once our bodies perish, our spirits, which can never die, are released to live on into eternity. Therefore, Jesus had to come to give His Life for us, so that if we believe in Him, calling upon His Name, the Father seals us as His & receives us into His family. If we refuse Him, only punishment remains. How we respond to God's Love in Jesus determines where our spirits will finally spend eternity.
The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.
Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7
Isaiah 6:8
Romans 1:20*
Colossians 2:9
Acts 17:27-30
1 John 5:7
John 10:30
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"
Genesis 1:1
The Father purposes
The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)
The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.
All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.
Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God WITH US. [Jesus]
{Comment} Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
[ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]
Upon being born again, Jesus gives the Holy Spirit to teach us scripture, comfort us, convict us of sin, enable us to be witnesses. Stay in the New Testament at first.
That question is the source of a lot of debates and division for years.
For me here is a couple of reasons why I no longer like to answer those"original" posts directly.
1) In a way it is like a person asking "if you commit suicide will you go to Heaven?" I am cautious to give an answer to that: afraid of what one might do with that information.
( It can prompt one to continue in sin.)
2) Some ask that question rhetorically. ( Looking for a debate )
You asked for "scripture" on once saved always saved ".Please Forgive me for asking is that a rhetorical question?
However, To be cautious in my answer I would say examine by what means where you saved and your answer lies there.
I can not loose my salvation because I have a great Shepherd who layed down his life for me and calls me by name!! "He said he will never say to me I never knew you!" And he said "no man or myself can pluck me out of his hand!
John 10:28-29.
This same Shepherd said he will NEVER leave or forsake me and he would abide with me forever.
Hebrews 13:5.
John 14:16.
He will NEVER leave or forsake me and he would abide with me forever!!
Now notice John 14:17.
" Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; FOR HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, AND
( SHALL BE IN YOU )
He shall be in me and he shall never leave or forsake me!
In order for us who are "TRULY" saved to loose our salvation; Christ would have to be able to loose his salvation.
Colossians 3:3.
Examine ourselves and by what means you were saved and the answer lies there.
I agree with your first sentence. To add, Jesus said "But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24 KJV. During Jesus Christ on earth He commanded His Disciples in Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Jesus was preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven. Had the Jews recognized their King..could of, would of, should of. But they killed their Messiah. Your second sentence is half correct. Jesus Christ had chosen Paul to be the twelfth apostle with a purpose to tell us Gentiles more detail what happened during his dispensation. The word dispensation can only be found 4X in Paul's epistles: 1 Corinthians 9:17
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
Ephesians 3:2
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Colossians 1:25
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Ephesians 1:10
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
These verses proved to me that when Paul told us to "divide the word of truth" means that God speaks to different people in different times. Meaning Dispensation. Therefore, some verses of the Bible applies only to the Jews and only to Gentiles and some applies both to Jews and Gentiles in different times as "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets," Hebrews 1:1 KJV. Paul is our Apostle today. His dispensation of Grace is critical for today's salvation. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Agape.
We are under the dispensation of Grace now! Since Jesus death, buriel and resurrection we are no longer under the dispensation of law. Christ fulfilled the law in every way.( Colossians 2:14) Blotting out the handwriting of Ordinances that was against us(pertains to the Law of Moses, which was Gods standard of Righteousness that man could not reach).which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to His Cross.
You state: "Paul teaches the opposite of what you said for this age Col 2:16"
It scripture reads:
Colossians 2:16
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"
This scripture is a "perfect example" of being incorrectly understood. Many like you, try to use this scripture to invaladate the argument for keeping the Sabbath today.
In the period that Paul lived almost everyone ate and drank and honored and kept the holidays, and the sabbath days - including the Holy Sabbath Day. Paul was telling them to continue keeping these beliefs intact, and ignore what others are saying, and he tells them to not worry about those that may judge them for keeping these customs in place.
The Law was given to Israel. The law given was to convict us of sin.
2 Corinthians 3:6-14.
Galatians 3:11-13.
Romans 7:4-5.
Romans 7:9-10.
Some aspects of the Law such as the Sabbath pointed to Christ work on the Cross that would free us from the curse of the Law. " Death"
Colossians 2:11-17.
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS:
HERE'S. THE KEY IN VERSE 17.
Vs.17) "Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."
Israel "as a nation" regects Christ work on the cross so as of now the have yet to join in that rest.( Yet they honor the Sabbath!)
Please study Hebrews 4:2-11.
That rest comes after salvation. Not to obtain it.
If one wants to observe the sabbath go ahead, but if you do it to earn salvation you fall in the same unbelief as Israel.
The Galatians was warned of the same thing in Galatians 5:4. "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."
Salvation is not for sell its a gift. Ephesians 2:8-9. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
God uses parables, and symbolism through his word.
We, through the working or the Holy Spirit, have to break down the symbolism to make all scriptures agree with themselves.
Psalms 19:1 The heavens show his handy work ....
John 3:13 No man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is IN HEAVEN.
Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ....CHRIST IN YOU ....
YOU and I (the heavens) show his handy work and glory
Psalms 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Literal day cannot speak, nor literal night show knowledge.
You and I speak, by the working of the Holy Spirit.
Psalms 12:4 Who have said, With our tongue we shall prevail, our lips are our own, who is Lord over us.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU (this mystery, Christ in you) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Psalms 139:12 Yea the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
Psalms 19:4 Their (speech and knowledge)(Christ in you) line have gone through out all the earth, and their word (Christ in you), in them (You and I) (Christ in you) he hath set a tabernacle (you are the temple of God 1 Corinthians 3:16) for the SUN (the Father).
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple there in: For the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the TEMPLE OF IT (Christ in you).
Psalms 19:5 Which as a bridegroom cometh out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul (body, Christ in you) shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation (Christ in you), he hath covered (blood of Christ) me with the rob of righteousness (Christ in you), as a BRIDEGROOM decketh himself with ornaments (Christ in you), and as a BRIDE (You and I) adorneth herself WITH HER JEWELS (Christ in you).
The verse "the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath" ( Matthew 12:8) does seem to show that there is a justification for it to now be the day of rest and worship. We see evidence elsewhere of disciples meeting the "first day of the week" in Acts 15:30 and 20:7. Collections are also to be made on that day according to 1 Corinthians 16:9; but in that case it seemed to be specifically for Paul and it doesn't seem to indicate that was when they would always fellowship together. Colossians 2:16 could also relate to not disputing when we meet together. It doesn't seem any demand is to meet on Sunday; and Messianic Jews still do so on Saturday.
The verse about the Sabbath being made for man indicates that there is a superior principle involved. Namely; those things called "works" on the Sabbath that were added laws to the original statute were not to be considered legitimate. Whereby; a legitimate need such as eating; feeding animals; or healing men were frequently used as examples of how those principles of mercy; love and justice were to supercede superficial legalistic practices. Thus; Jesus would quote the scripture about Daniel and the shewbread as justification for His actions and that of the disciples. Those laws that were in effect specifically for the Jews were eventually superceded by grafting in of Jews and Gentiles; and since Christ is God in the flesh honoring Pentecost (which had a significant prophetic indication of Christ's fulfillment at the Ascencion after the Resurrection) we now are under grace. We are now under a New Covenant; which allows us to fulfill the law as He ever lives to intercede for us and His Spirit remains within us. (see Hebrews 7:25; Ephesians 1:13-14). There is no Temple; and animal sacrifices hence Jews have no way to follow former purification rites. We can choose to rest on Saturdays; or Sundays as I see it-just as we can still celebrate the Passover. Obviously there is much controversy here on this subject.
Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ..... CHRIST IN YOU ....
Christ CAME THE SECOND TIME at pentecost; in SPIRIT, as the Holy Ghost.
Hebrews 9:28 So, Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many (first coming, as flesh), and unto them that look for him (as a thief in the night) he shall appear the SECOND TIME (unseen like a thief, as the Holy Ghost) without SIN UNTO SALVATION.
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (the life of the body) that WORKETH in you (his body) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

CHRIST IN YOU.
1 John 2:27 The anointing (THE LIFE) in you ....... will teach you ALL THINGS .......
Colossians 3:3 For ye are DEAD, and your LIFE is HID with Christ in God.
Christ blood COVERS our sins, to REPENT means to change your way of thinking, or your beliefs.
It takes lots of studying God's word and lots of repenting in the way, and things, we believe.
Psalms 78:2 I will open my (God the word's) mouth in a PARABLE
The tree OF KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
The fruit of that tree IS KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
You are the garden of Eden; the tree of knowledge of good and evil is in you, and when you come to TRUTH, then you also come to THE KNOWLEDGE that the TREE OF LIFE is also IN YOU. BUT: Cherub with sword's of FIRE surround the TREE OF LIFE; so you are going to have to go through FIRE to partake of the fruit of the TREE OF LIFE.

John 17:21 That they (new creation) may be ONE, as thou Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they (new creation) may be ONE IN US ....
Revelation 12:2 And SHE (the church, Christ's bride) being with child (the new man) cried, travailing in BIRTH, and pained to BE DELIVERED.
Whosoever BELIEVES SHALL (at the death of this body of flesh) BE SAVED ....... DELIVERED.
The verse in Leviticus certainly is a good start as has been mentioned here. The marks and or cuttings were often for ritual practices mourning the dead. The spiritual entities that often oppress people causing them to cut themselves to relieve their depression or in some cases are basically the same ones that mandate such practices to appease demons or Satan himself through such sacrificial rites.
A mark is an identification of sorts. Such is; of course reflected ultimately in the Mark of the Beast in Revelation. Those marked by God ( Rev. 7) are sealed by God as well. Since Christ is the image of the invisible God ( Colossians 1:15); we are NOT to make an image of Him on our bodies; or in any aspect of worship. Isaiah 42:8 may be the best verse about not making any carved image because God cannot share His glory with anyone else. Those who simply view tatoos as artwork still find the artist who does the work using an image that usually has a deeper meaning; or image associated with occult practices. Obviously; anything that is directly exalting an entity other than God is a bad message to the world.
The collateral damage once it is done can; with much discomfort and expense be removed. Surely; it CAN be a good witness and testimony as to how we went from darkness to light and how we are a changed person if we at a later date have come to faith.
Tatoos seem to have an addictive quality as do drugs an other materialistic pursuits; there seems to be an endless appetite to get more. Merely considering the expense of such endeavors and how spending on missions with the same amount would benefit the cause of Christ should be a sobering thought.
As to just how the computer biometrics will work with subsurface tattoos to procure the Mark of the Beast is uncertain. There seems to be an image associated with the computer chip but it could very well be a hybrid genetic change to the DNA of Satan that seals one's doom eternally. Scary stuff.
Satan walks upright on two legs today, the same as in the time of Adam and Eve.
Who is the most subtil of all the beast of the field that God hath made, that walks on two legs?
Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord and said, from walking to and fro in the earth, and walking up and down in it.
2 Samuel 24:1 And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go number Israel and Judah.
1 Chronicles 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Hello, no it doesn't. Slavery was a world problem and still is today. Today slaves- sometimes children- are even allowed to be trafficked into the US and the administration actually removed part of the border wall to make this easier for criminals to enter.
Some assume the Bible condones it because it has verses addressing slaves to be respectful of others. Colossians 4:1. This applies to everyone of course.
There is another angle on this: in the Bible days some voluntarily became "slaves" in order to pay off debt. Voluntarily doing work is closer to a job than slavery in my opinion, but I believe some call it that. If its 100% against someone's will then I think its slavery, but if someone voluntarily chooses something even if they perceive to not have many choices, then it it's a job. Some worked years for men in order to gain rights to marry a man's daughter, for instance.
This verse suggests that is someone is caught trafficking slaves to put them to death: Exodus 21:16. Other Bible verses like love your neighbor as yourself refute the myth that the Bible supports slavery. The message of Christianity is freedom, not slavery. The truth is true, regardless of what the evil world claims or thinks. Some will prefer the lie, because its more attractive to them. Lots of myths would be cleared up if people just read through the Bible.
Thanks for your reply.
Blessings
Blessings to you also!

Colossians 3,
Hopefully these are helpful
working in the law although they were operating GODS GIFT OF GRACE.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ...Christ in you (his body)
Philippians 2:13 For it is God (Christ in you) that WORKETH both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
THY WILL BE DONE
God Bless YOU.

Mishael
We get that question a lot.
God bless.
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Agape.
Read and Believe!
I concur Steve.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
I hope this helps.
God bless.
God uses parables, and symbolism through his word.
We, through the working or the Holy Spirit, have to break down the symbolism to make all scriptures agree with themselves.

I'm out of characters I hope you see the picture.

Revelation 12:2 And SHE (the church, Christ's bride) being with child (the new man) cried, travailing in BIRTH, and pained to BE DELIVERED.
Whosoever BELIEVES SHALL (at the death of this body of flesh) BE SAVED ....... DELIVERED.
May God give us eyes to see and ears to hear.

The life in you is Christ, the faith in you is Christ's faith, the works are Christ's works, the baptism in you is the baptism of Christ (the Holy Ghost):
YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man out of the dust of the ground ....
Man, as well as all creatures, is only a body.
....and breathed into them the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
The soul, or body, has no life outside of the breath and life of God.
