    So, I take it that this is an endorsement of violence towards non believer's? Someone please advise, thank you.

    In 1 Corin 1:1 Paul calls Sosthenes a brother (in christ). So if this is the same person in Acts 18:17.He was a Christisn and beaten probably because he allowed Paul to teach.
