Galatians 1:19 Paul did not see any other apostles but James the brother of Jesus. Now read on and absorbed what God revealed to us. There is a reason why this verse is important. Other Scholars said that the Book of James was written by James the brother of Jesus. How could that be? The message in James was that faith without works is dead James 2:20 & James 2:26. How can you explained the opposition on Pauls messages Ephesians 2:8-9? It is because the author of James is James the brother of John the sons of Zebedee. That James was killed by King Herod Acts 12:2 about 44 AD or CE. He was not seen by Paul after Paul went to Arabia. That James had written the book of James before James died to tell the 12 tribes what is about to happened in the tribulation ( my opinion after the church age will be raptured) James 1:1. If this was written by James the brother of Jesus, he would have not contradicted what he heard from Paul because he saw Paul right after Paul went to Arabia Galatians 1:17-19. The second part of 2 Timothy 2:15 we are not ashamed to tell all that we must rightly divide the word of truth. Know the physical and spiritual messages of God. It is only revealed when you trust Jesus and not yourself. If you do not rightly divide you will be confuse of your salvation. We are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. Amazing God we have. I glorify God by telling you this revelation. I please only God and not men. My life is a true testament of God's glory. Who has the mind of God Romans 11:33-36, 1 Corinthians 2:15-16. My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you are a leader in church, let the Spirit of God speaks to you..Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. Very nicely explained by Henry in 1710. This chapter speaks so loud to me that there is a need to share. First, the fact that we all know in Acts what happened in Damascus when Paul was converted. Here Paul uses the words to tell the readers in Spiritual way that He is in fact chosen by Jesus Christ 1:1 and became a servant of Christ 1:10. Paul even certified that he received the gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 not from man, but it is indeed by the revelation of Jesus Christ 1 :10-11. To certify something is indeed really deep in any professions. You investigate, you observe, you speak the truth, you have proven without a shadow of a doubt, you interviews people involved, you have all strong evidence, you even travel to a place to find that true evidence, you rely only on facts and the person that has integrity to tell truth. I guess you get the gist. The fact that he went to Arabia (Mt. Sinai) 1:17 God must have told Paul something that only Paul knows. Remember 2 Corinthians 12:1-4? How can you not think Paul is the 12th Apostle with this evidence? That is why 1 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study. Go figure and look at other Bible other than KJV. They removed the word "study". Folks I am not kidding you. There is something real God is telling us today. I would not lie either about this because I sense the urgency to tell this forum for whatever reason God only knows. Anyway, Paul then saw Peter for 15 days 1:18 and imagined the conversations then between Peter and Paul. In Acts Peter is telling everybody WHO they crucified was God. Then Paul revelation was that blood of Jesus Christ will saved the whole world if you believe and trust and have faith on that alone Romans 3:25. Not of works just by faith Ephesians 2:8-9. What a profound revelation. You do not want to be accursed 1:9 outside 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. We will be judged according to Paul's gospel Romans 2:16, Romans 16:25, 2 Timothy 2:8. The Lord is praised and the work is able to move forward when we realize that justification in Christ is by faith alone, with out the works of the laws of Moses and traditions of men.
Hello Charles, It is true that the Christians in the early church lived differently than we do today in some respects, but there were some respects that we are today similar. We do know that in the early church, the believers gathered together for worship (we do that now).They prayed for each other (we do that now).They gave funds to help those in need (we do that now).They taught one another the doctrines of the faith (some churches do that now as a matter of course).They held everything in common (we do not do this today).They desired unity and oneness of belief (we desire that today).They were unable to keep the unity of faith and fellowship, as there were many false teachings creeping into the churches and many schisms within fellowships (we have this today).They had apostles establishing the churches, re-visiting them, and writing letters to them (we do not have that today).They were persecuted and martyred (there is some of this happening today in parts of the world).They had pastors, elders, and deacons (we have that today).The OT Scriptures and letters from the apostles were read during worship times (we do this today). The Holy Spirit manifested in believers in various ways (we have that today).
There is a lot that we do not know of what the early church did or was like. And the church was in constant change as the decades passed and centuries rolled by. Jesus said that He would build His church, and He has over the last 2000 years. Jesus always fulfills His word and what He purposes to do. As believers, we should believe that our Lord is still building His church today and has been over the centuries. To not believe this is to deny that Jesus keeps His word.
But we know He is faithful and His words are true. We know that as God the Son, He has the power to preserve the church against the gates of hell. Yeah!
We in our time do not need to be just like the church in the 1st century anymore than the 1st century church needed to function like the Israelites.
Let me also add this, Paul said we were delivered form this present-day world, back then they didn't live like Christians do today they obeyed the church, and they were a BODY all of one mind (thought) and had all things in common (shared everything with each other equally) there were no have and have nots so this may have been what other were teaching. You have to remember it was Illegal to be a Christian then It'd be like us preaching and setting up churches in North Korea today. Here we are free and yet mostly silent..................
I don't believe it was the Galatians Christians, but Paul wrote that they who went out from among us are not of us and at that time false teachers had already begun teaching circumcision and stick obedience to the law among other things so it was false teachings why Paul wrote to them, and you see Paul say here: 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Paul reiterates the gospel to them: 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Most don't recognize as Paul was traveling on his mission and preaching and establishing new churches satan was right on his heels sowing discord and lies, I believe this was the thorn in the flesh Paul prayed about 3 times and God answered him. my grace is sufficient, that's just my opinion tho.

Hello Charles. Apostle Paul gave the reason for this letter in Galatians 1:6-10. The three main points are: 1. that another Gospel was being entertained by the Church; 2. that Paul's apostolic authority, as given him by the Lord, was being questioned; & 3. a re-hash of the Gospel of Christ, of Christian liberty & other matters given.
1. The Judaizers (Jewish Christians that refused to accept the non-relevance of the Law to Israel as Truth), had entered into this Church (or, other such gatherings in Asia Minor), & began proclaiming, even pontificating their beliefs with flowery speech & convincing arguments. Galatians 1:6-10; 3:1; 4:17. Paul refutes this 'new' teaching of 'faith plus works' ( Galatians 3:2-5).
2. Paul's apostleship defence. His authority acquired through revelation ( Galatians 1:11-24); it was approved by the Jerusalem Church ( Galatians 2:1-10); it was acknowledged in his rebuke to Peter ( Galatians 2:11-21).
3. A re-hash of the Truth - an expansion of what they earlier heard from Paul. Was the Spirit received through faith or through the Law? (3:1-5). Of Abraham's faith (3:6-9). Justification only by Faith - the Law given, only to draw men to Christ (3:10 - 4:11). Paul's own testimony (4:12-20). Testimony from an OT allegory (4:21-31).
This faith (apart from the Law), gives meaning to: full Liberty (5:1-12); genuine Love (5:13-15); enjoying the Fruit of the Spirit in spiritual walk (5:16-26). And then matters pertaining to sin in the Church (6:1-5) & giving for the Lord's Work (6:6-10).
Paul ends with his closing words (6:11-18): a final warning to beware of any who demand circumcision or keeping the Law (which those teachers even fail to keep). They might do it with false motives, even to avoid persecution from the Jews (6:12) or to boast in being their teachers (6:13), but none of them carry the marks of persecution which Paul has, showing his stand for the Truth & love for the believers.

I'm sure there are many reasons that motivate us to change the gospel because we perceive the gospel to be not good news, but bad news, or at least if it's not good news, it's not the best news, and we can improve it and make it better than the gospel that it is.
May be that's what motivates us.
May be it's because the gospel reduces is to shame, and we can't stand that shame, and so we want to change it.
Or we see it as a stumbling block, and people are hostile to it, and so we figure that a little spoonful of sugar might make the medicine go down and so we soften it. We delude it in our attempt to improve upon it.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever more that same sprit that raised Christ from the dead, is that same sprit that quickens us today to walk in the newness of life, We have been set free and he whom the sun sets free is free indeed. Thank you Jesus

I agree with Brother Adam who previously responded to your comments. Surely we most do more than just believe. Jesus states in scripture below: he will reward every man according to his work. This does take action on our part, as Jesus also states in scripture below, that he will come quickly and reward those who keep his commandments, and they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Revelation 22:12-14
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city
So, if you believe what Jesus is stating here in the scripture: We must then keep his (God's) commandments and produce good work/good fruit!
Jesus didn't die on the cross, so that all of us can keep sinning as much as we want - with no repercussions. There is no free ticket to heaven!

Hi Donna, Hendrickson Publishers publishes one called Holy Bible 1611 Edition King James Version which includes the apocrypha and is in the original old English, just not the gothic font.
As I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. An original 1611 KJV Bible or just a reprint. I'd say just type in "1611 KJV Bible" on google or maybe amazon and see what comes up. Check the details to see if it's what you are looking for.
I'm trying to find an in print (not on computer) 1611 King James Version Bible WITH the Apocrypha. I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for. The Ryrie study Bible was recommended but I'm not sure it includes the Apocrypha.
I looked into this a little for you. As I know it comes up in that some people don't believe you should cremate a dead body. As it seems some have stated it may keep that person from "being resurrected" in the end.
So one verse came up where a body was burned before burial. 1 Samuel 31:11-13.
As there is no direct Scripture against cremation. The people of Israel would normally buried their dead. As today the cost to bury a dead body is very high. Cremation is the most cost effective way to dispose of someones remains in my knowledge.
In my knowledge it really doesn't matter what is done to the body after death. We are all dust and, our bodies, return to dust after our death. Job 34:14-15. As the saying "ashes to ashes, dust to dust". If any think it has anything to do that whoever was cremated won't be resurrected. I'd say "what about people who died in a fire, eaten by a shark, or mutilated in a terrible car accident, or something?" Hopefully they wouldn't think that has anything to do with God being able to resurrect them on the last day. As God can do anything.

Yes, it seems they did. The first time Paul went to Jerusalem was three years after his Conversion, Where He saw only Simon Peter and James the Lords brother and abode there fifteen days. Galatians 1:18-19.
Then after another fourteen years he went up to Jerusalem again. Stating James, Cephas, and John were there. Galatians 2:9. Though it seems he probably saw all of them at that visit.
Galatians 1:4-5 Amen. Galatians 1:3.
