Revelation Chapter 1 Discussion

Rapture and Tribulation does not change Salvation and Grace, it just takes those who are ready. Tribulation is for God to get His people to turn back to Him and never want to turn again. Gentiles will be there too. The Anti-christ is the King of the North (from the tribe of Dan, Jewish decent)

Raptured before Tribulation are in Rev 5:9-10 in Heaven before Chapter 6,and so on.

    9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Zech 14:16 Those that are left that (still death and sin 1st 1000yrs) go to Heaven. They remain in Heaven for 1000 years. ( Revelation 20:5), Satan locked away for 1000 years ( Revelation 20: 1-4) After 1000 years the ones on earth will be tested when satan is let loose. So who is alive after 1000 years will be tested. They are descendants from Zech 14:16

Also those that came out of the Great Tribulation ( Revelation 7:14) never hunger nor thirst again. Remain in Heaven with God until it's all said and done.

So Saints before Jesus who died were in a paradise in the earth. Until Jesus took the keys of death, captives set free

John 6:36-40 (Jesus the Only way)

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:43-47 (Again, Jesus is the Only way)

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him (who believes in Him): and I will raise him up at the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (Atonement of sins, veil torn, Jesus the only way)

Those who do believed and died, they will rise first. Those who are alive next. Rapture.

    REV CH 1,2,3. PART 1

    REVELATION IN 3 PARTS Past-Present-Future

    Revelation 1:19 Write the things which thou hast SEEN, and the things WHICH ARE, and the things which shall be HEREAFTER;

Things which thou hast SEEN ( Rev 1:1-18) things which ARE ( Revelation 2,3) things which shall be HEREAFTER ( Revelation 4:1)

John wrote down what he had seen, in the order in which he saw them.

REV 2,3 'WHICH ARE' CHURCHES IN JOHNS TIME/CHURCHES TODAY

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth

    Rapture 'seizing and carrying off'

There have been raptures already just by the definition above, more yet to come.

Enoch, Elijah, Captives free in the OT are 'raptures'

    RAPTURES DURING THE GREAT TRIBULATION.

(Disclaimer: John wrote it) Those who repent during tribulation before the 7th seal, later 144,000 and Two witnesses. Salvation will be available to those who ask for God's grace before the 7th seal though they must endure the first 6 seals.

REV 4:1 RAPTURE/TRIB (Dead in Christ rise first, they which are alive) 6 SEALS ( REV 7:14 Great multitude..'out of' meaning within. Two Witnesses, 144,000 man child)

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION SEEK HIM WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND!

Mark 13:32 -But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

RAPTURE/START OF TRIBULATION ( Rev 4:2/19:11-21) 2ND COMING OF CHRIST

Chapter 7 starts 'after these' so chapters 4,5,6 have happened.

LITTLE HORN UPROOTS 3 NATIONS, AND OTHER 6 FALL IN LINE. AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF WAR.

Zechariah 14:16-23 - After Tribulation 'Those that left' 'year to year' for 1000 years. Will live, age, multiply and die. In Heaven until 1000 years are up. These nations satan will be let loose to deceive the nations one last time.

NOT THOSE RAPTURED SAINTS WITH CHRIST 2ND Coming, THEY WILL BE ETERNAL

    Further insights to Revelation 1

    Verse one states:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

This verse shows much like Matthew 24:36 that some things apparently are still appropriated by the Father; at least in regard to the timing of events in the future and the day and hour they begin. Admittedly; this is a mystery as Christ is fully God and fully man but we can learn the Godhead and how the Son does nothing apart from the Father here at the very least ( John 5:19). Indeed that verse says the Son can do NOTHING of Himself; which could have been particularly true during His earthly ministry.

Nonetheless we see that death could not overcome Him ( Acts 2:24). God exalted Him as High Priest and King and gave Him all authority in heaven and earth positionally ( Matt. 28:18); restoring the position which He no doubt had since He was the One who created all things ( Colossians 1:16).

verse 3 states Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. It reminds us of the verse in Revelation 22:12 where He states that He comes quickly; and the delay of the church age can be seen in the verse Habakkuk 2:3 where it says although it tarries wait for it and the original language shows that it will surely come in its time and not delay. There is a crown; in fact for those who patiently wait for it; we are warned against losing our crown in Revelation 3:10. See also 2 Timothy 4:8 and Malachi 3:16.

The subsequent chapters show what happens when one casts aside their first love (with the Ephesian church); and other churches as to false doctrines. Since only God knows when the Rapture and subsequent Tribulation begins; any attempt for Satan to bring it forth sooner will fail so many will not believe it when it truly comes.

You will not go to hell if you trust God and what He has done for you. You see, God the Father sent his begotten Son who is Jesus Christ (also known as the Word) into the world so that he can receive it back. Jesus Christ was the lamb that was slain for the sins of mankind, which includes you and me; so that God's justice and God's wrath could be fulfilled. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and knew no sin, but still became sin for us because in such a way God loves the world, so that he himself will receive punishment instead of us. Now that Jesus Christ is risen and proclaimed Lord according to his resurrection, it is known that he has victory over death and that all who believe in him will appear like him. If you believe that He died for your sins and shed His blood for your forgiveness, you are saved and adopted into God's family by the sealing of the Holy Spirit.

In this dispensation, known as the Church Age, it was revealed to Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, for it was the mystery that was not revealed to others beforehand. The Church is the body of Christ placed to be a light to the world until the day of the Lord; which is God's wrath during the seven year tribulation and his second part of the second coming at the battle of Armageddon.

God has placed every believer in his body, just as he is the head of the body, and every member is like its members, and he will never forsake them. This means that all those who believe today and are saved will never be forsaken, as Jesus himself said in John 10:28; "And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

In this way, you can be sure that if you have put your trust in Christ alone and in the work of salvation performed on Calvary's cross with His blood, you are saved and you will never perish.

Hello Richard. Although the English language has had continual changes over the years, it is generally accepted that the KJV, translated in 1611, eventually was revised in 1769 into today's (Modern) English.

According to a bar graph of the history of the English language, when the KJV was first translated (in what was called Early Modern English), this era began in the late 1400s till the early 1600s. So, in a sense, had the 1611 KJV translation work waited a little longer, it might have made it into the Modern English era. I wonder how those translators & printers would have felt when that change, however gradual, happened!

    Michael,

Revelation 4:1 is the verse that's used by those who believe that the believers will be raptured prior to the Tribulation Period, because number 1, the door had been opened, and number two, a trumpet was talking to him (John).

It's the same as Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 4:13, I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, as others which have no hope.

He had just said in this chapter that the trump of God would sound. It would be a great shout, and the trump of God would sound. And so here is the trumpet talking to John saying come up here.

And those who hold the Pre-Trib. position see that as equivalent to the rapture of the church that is happening.

And from here on, John will see everything from heaven, and the church will no longer be on the earth, but the multitudes will be in heaven.

And many believe that's an indication, among other scriptures, especially 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 where it gives us the Tribulation Period, and he says this is for the wrath of God, and we (believers) have not been chosen for the wrath of God.

    Hi Joyce,

We have been living in the last days since Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father. If you read the Epistles and Acts you will find verses that say that they were living in the last days then.

Regarding the 7 yr tribulation , Jesus said "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." ( Matthew 24:21,22) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. The one who gets taken out of the way is this anti-christ here in 2 Thessalonians 2:7

No man knows the day or hour of the Lord's return. In the book of Revelation, we are reading about the prophecy of events pertaining to the seven-year tribulation which will happen after the church (Body of Christ) is raptured to be taken out of the way of God's judgment to come upon the earth. Things we are seeing today are happening on a global scale and are the beginning of the end as I see it. The focus would be on Israel for the Bible tells us about the times of the Gentiles coming to a close and God turning back to Israel to fulfill His promise to Abraham as a people of earthly inheritance. Israel did become a nation in 1948 and has flourished as a people returning back to their homeland and the land has blossomed as prophesied in the bible. All these signs are before us today and we can say we are in the generation to see the Lord as mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 24:34. My heart rest in the fact of what Jesus said to not let your heart be troubled for where He is there you will be ( John 14:1-3). Promise is; where I go, He goes, and I can rest in the fact that He will never leave me nor forsake me. So, as a Child of God greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world. We are not on the losing team so why worry about tomorrow when we have now and can look forward to our eternity with Christ. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh (Luke21:28).

To add: GOD was able to deliver Noah, Lot, he has a promise & is able to deliver us, HIS children during those days. They weren't taken out of the world, the were there, right in the events, but precisely spared. 2Peter 2, note 2Peter 2:9.

Steve Gbu.....The trinity is very simple....Its Father Son and Granson that is gonna become as the Stars of heaven in multitudes....If ya can understand Abraham Issac and Jacob.... Remember Abraham offered up his only son Issac.. who does that remind us of, God the Father that offered up his only son Jesus....That ram caught in the thicked by his horns was symbolic of Christ and his Crown of thorns....And out of Issac came Jacob and Esau....Outta of Christ came the Wheat the H.G. and the Tares came out of Satans seed....Remember Jacob was the Granson and outta of Jacob came the 12 tribes...The great nation of Israel....But now under this new covenant, its the H.G...The 3 rd person that is the Israel of God...That heavenly Jacob in Isaiah 48 kjv is a picture of Israel of God...The sun nor any kind of heat can lite on them simply b/c they are spirits...As Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit...Thats the H.G. the Israel of God....God Almighty told Moses that his name was ABRAHAM ISSAC AND JACOB...Simply b/c the Godhead is a picture of Abraham Issac and Jacob....Just as Abraham was multiplied as the sands of the seas so Almighty God will be multiplied as the stars of heaven....Thats y the Sower of the good seed wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts...That he might be multiplied as the stars of heaven..Thats y Jesus refers to the H.G. as the Promise the multiplication of Jesus...His offspring an Israel of God...Thats y jesus is saying to whom the word came..(His seed ) it made them Gods and the scriptures cannot be broken..

.....And also the Davidic kingdom was Jesse, David and Solomon....Father, Son and Granson...In Isaiah 11:1 we read of a heavenly Kingdom coming in the last days....Isaiah describes it as a Jesse, David and Solomon type kingdom coming in the last days when God wd gather his ppl a 2 nd Time a 2nd coming...As the H.G. cannot be born in us without the seed of Christ thus Christ is truly the father of the H.G..He has to know us.

Yes Steve, 1 John 5:7 says, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one", is the best singular verse that succinctly describes the Triune God. Then to humanly fathom such a Being as God Who can send Himself forth to accomplish His Purposes (as His Word & Holy Spirit) & not be deficient or destroy Himself in any way, becomes a difficulty for many - hence the on-going debates on this important subject.
