In studying these and other Psalms recently of David; I just realized that there is quite a parallel in his life along with the Lord Jesus Christ-namely; they both spent much time in the wilderness.
Being the Son of God; there were some things; such as guaranteed indestructibility until His time came that He was aware of. However in both cases there was much time for praise and worship as well as prayer. David doesn't seem to mention prayer as much as the Gospels do with Christ arising before dawn and even praying all night in the case of choosing His disciples.
Psalm 91 gives assurances of angelic protection such as we see in verse 7. Christ was strengthened by angels; and also had Satan quote verse 11 in that Psalm to use against Him.
One needs to be cognizant of their walk with God; because without the full armor of God we risk His Spirit being grieved and allowing some of our protection to be lifted so as to teach us not to stray. To misuse scripture to attempt to bring a blessing or angelic power for our own personal gain was something that Satan tempted Christ with; so we should know better.
Verse 9 in Psalm 63 once again is a very clear indication of hell "lower parts of the earth" those who would attempt to destroy David; and of course God will have vengeance when Christ returns to destroy the earth's armies at Armageddon. (see Luke 19:27).
Jesus' mind always in complete agreement with the Father, and also He always said "yes" to the Father, not just from His lips, but with His mind, will, heart, and body.
1 Corinthians 2:16 says, " For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
The word mind is the word NOUS. Again, this is the perceptive abilities. We don't have His brain. I think that there are some people that misunderstand this text.
There have been people in the past that said "Now that I'm saved, everything that passed through my brain is God's thoughts, and therefore I speak whatever my thoughts are, and they're all of God because I have the mind of Christ."
Well, there are several Greek words. PSEUKE, mostly for the brain, but there are several other words that describe the function of the brain. And the word NOUS describes the perceptive abilities of the mind.
So when it says we have the mind of Christ, we've got the Spirit of Christ that is revealing to us and giving us the ability to perceive spiritual truth.
It's not just a head knowledge, it's a perception, and we're able to perceive because we've received Christ. Then we have His Spirit giving us the perception of Christ.
And the more we grow in Christ, the more we perceive the workings of His Spirit and the truths of God functioning in the Spirit realm.
The Mind of Christ means the way Jesus thinks, talks, feels, behaves and so on. There isn't a single verse in the Bible to summarize that, but the gospels are full of Jesus' way of 'living and behaving and teaching, we can take examples from those.
Maybe the verses in Philippians 2:5-10 can give you a general idea. Jesus' mind was to obey Father God's commandments.
I am deeply concerned that in the midst of worldwide government oppression, God is doing something to deliver Christians from this oppression and to let us see his glory. I realize that he could just let world events run its course without him doing anything out of ordinary and time just go on with us continuing as now. But I want to know God's will. Brother David, I believe that we've all enjoyed your posts & through them, the encouragement you've given us to live the Christ-centred life. I personally would welcome your input here as you have much to offer for our mutual benefit; and together we help each other in growing in the knowledge of our Lord & His precious Word. In this world, with so much to tear away at our minds & lives, it's wonderful to come away & fellowship with those of like precious faith & who have a yearning to see our Lord & enjoy His Presence with continual worship & praise. I praise the Lord for the open forum that is presented here. I'm not an expert in the Bible, but in the Love of Christ I will attempt to help some of the discussions of the Brethren. I believe the study of the Scripture is mainly to make me more like Christ. Then I can fulfill my responsibly as a child of God, to go and make disciples.
How my brother or sister lives in Christ is not for me to question, unless I have a pact with them to help in our mutual growth in Christ (accountability).
If a pastor, preacher or for that matter if any one does something I do not agree with, I should go straight to that person and talk to them. First I
should pray. Again in the love of God, Scripture tells me, I am to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
I've advised friends, family, and other folk regarding these types of issues; that there is really only one of three things you can choose from to do. First, you can go and speak to the other party in the Spirit of Love. Secondly, you can quietly and in prayer give it to the Lord and let the Lord God Jesus Christ handle it and without any more thought, serve and worship the Lord there. Lastly, leave in the grace of God and seek another body of believers to worship with.
Just remember, our whole task is to become more like Christ, and worship Him with all of our soul, mind, and heart.
May the Lord continue to shine His face on you and your family. May we all be like Barnabas, the son of consolation, and bring comfort to the brethren, but most of all Glorify and Praise the Lord. I pray this will help us to further the Kingdom of God as we await His soon coming in the clouds.
Verse 3-life without Jehovah God's loyal love and kindness would be meaningless. These qualities strengthen and comfort us as we go through life and face different things.
We know that life can be tough, and life is beautiful but then life is also unfair, yet regardless of what life throws at us, God's lovingkindness is bound to surpass it.
Thus, because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. ( Psa. 63:3)

Hello, I do not agree with your conclusion. It sounds like you heard a few sermons, looked at the skin color of the person speaking and drew an assumption. If you believe people are equal then why focus on people's skin color? Doesn't that perpetuate a problem of treating someone differently for their color? Isn't that as arbitrary as looking at their height, shirt size, or shoe color? Correlation equals causation?
I've personally heard numerous sermons from pastors on racism who happened to be white. Too many. Have you searched that topic on YouTube? I don't know what country you live in, but if the US is it the most free and has the lowest problem with racism than any country in the world. Where else do you have such freedom where anyone of any walk of life can excel in something and become a multimillionaire or billionaire? All skin colors have huge wealth in this country. It's hard to make a case for racism and oppression when it doesn't seem to apply to a large % of the population, only a loud minority who want entitlement. Also there are all skin colors in poverty and homeless on the streets. It's hard to explain how one skin color would be privileged when they're all in the same predicament. What if it wasn't skin color, but individual effort and habits? Is it possible that the media has an agenda that pushes inequality and tries to make everyone upset, even when many are thriving? Has the media successfully brainwashed everyone into believing something that hardly exists in most countries? The term for this phenomenon is called confirmation bias.
Other countries that actually have slavery right now are meanwhile being ignored by the media. Even children have been enslaved and imported into some countries and somehow that is ignored and not in the media. There is a lot of hardship and difficulty in life, but a place where all colors can become rich and privileged like the US, claiming they are racist doesn't have much credibility- people come from all over the world to go there. If the oppression was true people would not want to go there.
I asked the question because most Black preachers and Pastors preach against racism. My question was what does it say about racism in the Bible. I singled white preachers out because I listen to a lot of their sermons and watch them on television and I never hear them preach against it. To get to the heart of the problem it needs to be preached against unless they have a problem with preaching against it. Would you agree on that?
You are wise! If only people understood that knowledge is useless without wisdom; and wisdom can only come through prayer and the study of God's holy Word! Wisdom dictates that skin color is no different than hair color or eye color. Unfortunately, we live in a world that rolls its eyes at a simple comment like that.

My parents couldn't afford college for 5 kids, so I kicked my own rear to the library and textbooks resales; and made myself learn what they teach in the college. It's called ambition. Anyone can do that! I NEVER read romance novels, sci-fi or fiction. I love learning new stuff. That's how I know about the color of DUST.
What is motivation? What drives you? Who is driving? The God who created all we see and know? Or the Devil who only creates resentment, jealousy, anger, violence, etc.

Hello, the Bible teaches to love your neighbor. What I don't understand is why you're asking about racism and singling out "white" preachers at the same time? If the definition of racial discrimination is to treat some people differently because of the color of their skin, how is your question itself not racist?

In Genesis 48, Israel placed his right hand of blessing on the head of Joseph's younger son Ephraim while his left hand was on the head of the firstborn son Manasseh. His right hand deliberately conferred a greater blessing on Ephraim.
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God's right hand of power as Colossians 1 makes evident. He is also elevated to the right hand of God's throne in Heaven as declared in Romans 8:34, Ephesians 1:20, Colossians 3:1, Hebrews 1:3 and elsewhere in the scripture. David trusted the LORD as his Savior and prophetically includes this aspect of the LORD's nature in his psalms.
It came as a reminder that I need to be in His Word when I awake in the morning...I am newly retired, and never have been a morning person, so morning times with God were not likely, being unable to focus early in the morning. I love this psalm as well so comforting, and Joan if you open your Bible you will see it is a book of psalms and even in my early 1900 Bible it is the same and every psalm is a chapter, they are separated one from the other, hope this helps you to understand, they were to be considered a cluster of 5 books God Bless
