Discuss Psalms 69

Hello Jesse. You didn't ask me the question but I saw this in Scripture and thought I would share it with you if you don't mind. It may be helpful in someone's understanding on this topic. In ( Acts. 1:16-20) These verses are clearly speaking of Judas Iscariot and in ( Acts. 1:20) We are told "For it is written in the book of Psalms. ((Let his habitation be desolate))". Where is this written? It's written in ( Psalms 69:25-28) Now we look at ( Ps. 69:25) It says "Let their habitation be desolate" ( Ps. 69:28) Says "Let them be (blotted) out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. The word (blotted) is #4229; it means to erase, abolish, blot out, destroy, utterly, wipe, (away, out). I think this means his name was written in the book of the living at one point. The reason these verses say the words (their) and (them) could be because its speaking not only of Judas Iscariot but also of the other (son of perdition) Judas was the first son of perdition in ( Jn. 17:12) The second (son of perdition) is in ( 2 Thess 2:3-4) This son of perdition is the antichrist who will be revealed in the Lastdays. The first (son of perdition) Judas was possessed by Satan in ( Luke 22:3) and ( Jn 13:27) Then we have (Eccle. 1:9) Which says "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be" The first son of perdition was possessed by Satan so the second (son of perdition) in ( 2 Thess 2:3-4) will also be possessed by Satan, there is no new thing under the sun. Any thoughts on this Jesse? I'm apologize if I am intruding. God Bless.

WHAT IS THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION spoken of by Daniel

Matthew 24:15 Therefore when YOU SEE the abomination of desolation; spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the HOLY PLACE (whosoever readeth, let him understand).

You are the HOLY PLACE, the temple of GOD.

Christ was talking to those around him, so this APPLIED to them, as well as us, it was AT HAND, near to be reality.

Daniel 12:11 From the time the daily sacrifice (of animals) shall be TAKEN AWAY, and the abomination that maketh desolate SET UP, there shall be one thousand three hundred and thirty five days.

What is this 1,335 days? It's the changing of the COVENANTS, Christ coming as sinful flesh, and defeating

death; LIFE by Spirit, not blood.

Before the resurrection; LIFE was in the BLOOD, after the resurrecting, LIFE was from the Spirit.

Matthew 23:38 Behold your HOUSE is left unto you DESOLATE.

Man is THE HOUSE, now desolate without INHABITANT, it died on the cross.

Revelation 18:19 .....for in ONE HOUR (MAN, sinful fleshes death on the cross) is she made DESOLATE.

Revelation 17:17 ...and SHALL MAKE HER DESOLATE AND NAKED ..

Psalms 69:25 Let their habitation (house) be DESOLATE; and NONE dwell in their tents.

Isaiah 5:9 ...of a truth many houses shall be desolate ....

Are you DESOLATE; or has the Spirit of LIFE COME TO YOU?

Romans 8:2 For the LAW of the SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus, has made us FREE from the LAW of sin and death.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over HIS OWN HOUSE, whose house you are ...

You died on the cross; and become DESOLATE, no LIFE, you were raised a body, a new creation, life no longer of the blood; but OF THE LIFE OF CHRIST, by the Spirit of our Father.

Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery .....Christ in you ....

    God Bless YOU!

Psalm 69. The first few verses of the Psalm are reminiscent of Psalm 40 and several other psalms about being lifted from the mire.

Verses 3 through 8 precede verse 9 which was quoted in the New Testament ( John 2:17) when Jesus overturned the moneychangers tables (done at least one more time at the end of His ministry). They all could be prophetic about Christ as well; except for verse 5 talking of David's foolishness and sin; as well as the end of verse 4 where he was sid to "restore that which was not taken away" which would seem to indicate he had to give compensation to those accusing him of stealing stuff that he never took from them.

Verses 10 through 12 involving sackcloth and fasting also would apply to David alone (Christ's fasting wasn't for any sins of his own but as an example of how to be more fully empowered with the Spirit to cast out particular demons ( Matt. 17:21). When we go further from verses 13 through 19 once again the themes of mire and deep waters are mentioned; and these passages once again are rather interchangeable between David and Christ's trials.

Verses 20-22 once again are clearly prophetic; Christ's heart literally was boken (v. 20); verse 21 is quoted in Matt. 27:33-34; and verse 22 through 28 are likely describing Judas Iscariot as seen more clearly in Psalm 109 and several other passages. I would say that verse 28 is describing the book of ALL living souls; not the Book of Life. Finally; verse 29 also ties in with Psalm 109 in describing Christ at the crucifixion.

The rest of this Psalm gives hopefulness with again a Millennial type Kingdom to come. Sacrifice isn't needed of animals (v. 31) but I suspect it is a ceremonial and memorial thing.

Prisoners will be released (v. 33); and the land will have it's covenant borders and the world blessed (v. 34-end). The Lord will be praised throughout the earth. Amen.

Wes gave a wise answer on Christmas. Exodus 23:8, Deuteronomy 16:19, Ecclesiastes 7:7, may The HOLY Spirit teach us. John 14:26

I love to celebrate Christmas, I really enjoy the lights, the focus on our Savior. The generosity in the season. Christmas is a time of year, people remember more their fellow man, needs & wants of others. Christmas time reminds us of the joys of giving & putting smiles on others faces, teaching by love & kindnesses. Surprising a person with anonymous unexpected gifts, giving hope to people in desperation, food, clothing, volunteering, etc. warms their hearts, body & soul & sometimes gives them hope for a better ' tomorrow '. Christmas is the time of year people are more willing to receive from a Christian.....

We as Believers have an open door at Christmas unlike any other time of the year, to show the World who Jesus is, who the Church is.

When we remember those most "forgotten by others" showing them, they are not forgotten by GOD, it's amazing how even those around them are affected.

    Deuteronomy 15:7, Job 5:16, Proverbs 19:4, Psalms 69:33, Proverbs 14:21, 2Corinthians 9:9, Psalms 68:10, Galatians 2:10, Romans 15:26, Psalms 40:17, Proverbs 22:2, Psalms 41:1, Luke 14:13, Psalms 74:21, Proverbs 29:7, Proverbs 28:27, Psalms 112:9, Psalms 82:3, Daniel 4:27, Proverbs 21:13, Proverbs 31:10,20, context Proverbs 31, Proverbs 19:17, Proverbs 19:7, Luke 4:18, Matthew 11:5, Mark 10:21,

    Proverbs 19:6, Esther 9:22, James 1:27,

This Christmas season we really have a moment to help comfort, our nations with love, giving hope through the WORD, to poor in spirit & helping heal wounds. There is much we can give this year, for those in need. I pray GOD lead us even now, to start the giving season early. Romans 6:23, 2Corinthians 1:4, Proverbs 15:23,

    Psalms 31:24, Ecclesiastes 3:1,

    Brother Richard:

The REVEALING of Christ was the 3 1/2 years he was IN FLESH on the EARTH.

Revelation 1:1 ...the REVELATION (revealing) of Jesus Christ ....reveals Christ and those 3 1/2 years; fulfilling the coming of the Kingdom of God.

The seven seals are already open, the seventh seal at Pentecost. All the answers are in the scriptures of prophecy.

Daniel 12:7 An I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand, and his left hand unto heaven, and swear by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time (one year), times (2 Years) and a half 1/2 year (1+2+1/2=3 1/2 years: prophecy; Christ in flesh); when he shall accomplish to SCATTER THE POWER of the holy people (his priests) ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE FINISHED.

John 19:30 And when Jesus had therefore received the vinegar ( Psalms 69:21), he said, IT IS FINISHED (prophecy fulfilled), and bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (the Spirit of his Father).

    God Bless You.

    Hey Jennifer Zink,

    Just my understanding.

Soul and spirit are two different words, but some seem to think of being the same and are hard to separate in our mind. Hebrew word nephesh meaning a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion. The Greek word psuche meaning the soul, life, self, a person's distinct identity. The soul is our personality, and is made up of our mind, our emotion, and our will.

The word spirit, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word ruach meaning breath, wind, spirit, or the Greek word pneuma also meaning wind, breath, spirit. The spirit in us is our breath that is our life, and it is the part of us that can communicate with God through His Spirit, God is a Spirit John 4:24.

In our soul/who we are, us, we live according to what we think, and we practice a wide range of human emotions, and we often respond to things according to how we are feeling. We magnify ourselves, even if what we do is good, we make decisions with our will. The desires of the flesh are very tempting, the spirit of the world.

When we are born again, we are born of the Spirit in our human spirit, He comes to live in our spirit. We receive God in our spirit and magnify Him through our soul like Psalms 69:30 Luke 1:46-47. It is like we walk into a room and flip the light switch the flow of the Spirit turns on the light that shines out of our soul.

There will be daily battles of the soul/flesh and spirit, they are contrary to each other. Our spirit/conscience the recorder of all we do and think and what is written in the books. The spirit is the steering wheel of our soul. We can be like the song, Jesus take the wheel, or we can crash and burn our soul.

    God bless,

They have to make Jesus their Lord and Savior. He sheds his blood over our sins. They must have their names RECORDED IN THE BOOK OF LIFE. Priority number one.

Revelation 20:12 - And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 3:5 - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 21:27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 3:1-6 - And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. (Read More...)

Revelation 20:11-15 - And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Luke 10:20 - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (The Book of Life)

Exodus 32:33 - And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Psalms 69:28 - Let them be blotted out of the book of the living (Life) and not be written with the righteous.

Malachi 3:16 - Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

    Hi Bill,

That's another tough highly debated topic!

Thank God we are overcomers ( by the blood of Christ ). There is nothing we can take away from it and there's nothing we can add to it.

Often we just look at what we think to be the worst sins and single them out like murder ect.. So we don't carry those acts out, does that make us Perfect, Does that lift the old sin nature, Does that take care of sin where it generates before we carry out the act, which is in the HEART!

If it was up to us we all would loose our salvation. THANK GOD ITS NOT!

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, JUDE 1:24.

Let's take a look at Sardis and their condition.

Revelation 3:1.... I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Some of those in Sardis is in a condition where they have a "name " they are live but they're dead. " Not all"

Man's righteousness is as filthy rags, the spotted garments can also mean your self righteousness, that fits Sardis.

Man is unable to clean himself or stay clean apart from the Holyspirit.

Revelation 3:4-5. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Jesus died for the Whole world, Some suggest that everyone is written in "this" book and their name will remain because they overcame by the blood of the Lamb.

Some only had a name that they liveth but are dead.

Psalms 69:28 (KJV) Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not BLOT blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

this seems plain that our names can be blotted out of the book of life. If it was already written in, it can be blotted out it seems.

Psalms 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Moses pled for the Children of Israel in this instance

Exodus Chapter 32:30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

31 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are NOT not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Seems not all names are in the book of life.

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not BLOT blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

I have peace, love, joy, happiness and get to feel the presence of God daily. Jesus died on the Cross for me and loves me unconditionally. I am grateful for all I have.
